Being means one's essence, soul and entity. This EP focuses on the journey of Tolü Makay’s personal experience to “being” herself. The most important key aspect to that is understanding the importance of self love, self assurance and self confidence.
Each song one after the next captures the emotional journey to finally accepting who you are.
Starting from “Hello are you awake” which questions but also alludes to an awakening inquisitiveness. Then Doubt & hope with “Don’t Let Go”, leading into “Assumptions” and “Me, Myself & I” which challenges noise from those closest to you that expect you to live a certain way that doesn’t serve you. Combatting society's pressure with “Wild Thang” and finally understanding that “You Are Enough”.
Being is for everyone that has had to fight for their voice one way or another.

Incredible album. I'm so happy how "Little Green Cars" evolved into Soda Blonde, and extremely pleased that Faye O'Rourke is at the forefront of vocals with her fantastic, captivating voice. Such a moving album, and the underlying themes really presenting a sort of isolation and general feeling of being upset in a relationship, in my interpretation.
